7th March 2009 THE DISNEY PRINCESS CASTLE DECORATION COMPETITION

In conjunction with the Malaysia School Holidays on 15th to 22nd March 2009, Palace of the Golden Horses takes this ‘term break’ opportunity to jointly organise with the Disney On Ice a competition specially for the school children and their parents entitled - The Disney Princess Castle Decoration Competition

This magical and fun competition was opened to the public whereby parents and children participated and showed-off their talents and skills in decorating Princess Castles made of flourish dough and hard icing at only RM 25 nett per person. The objective of such family-ties event is to promote family values and get-together apart from challenging their creativities and imaginations.

For this competition which was held at Grand Salon Lobby Lounge on 7th March 2009, 12 teams have registered and enrolled their interests, mostly a combination of mother and daughter team. Each team consists of 2 persons (parent and child) and were given various decorative ornaments such as jelly beans, chocolates, glittering ribbons and colourful icing to fully decorate the Princess Castle in 45 minutes.
The hotel Pastry Team were on standby to assist any team that finds challenges and difficulties during the competition period.

Judges for this competition were Pastry Chef Kumar Deveindran and Production Manager of Disney On Ice Adrian Chong who then judged the winners based on their creativity, neatness and originality.

Judges had tough time judging the 12 beautifully decorated Princess Castles as the castles were all outstanding and creatively ornamented. However, three top winners were chosen and they were :

1st Prize : Puan Ar-Sidah Hiyah and son Erhan Dennis Mohd Al Jafri ( 3 years old)
and won
1 Night Stay with Breakfast at Palace of the Golden Horses
+ 2 show tickets worth more than RM 1400

2nd Prize : Puan Rinawati Roshky and daughter Felisa Khan ( 5 years old)
and won
2 Weekend High-Tea Vouchers at Palace of the Golden Horses
+ 2 show tickets worth more than RM 400

3rd Prize : Puan Sharifah Nadia Al Attas and daughter Hana Aneesa ( 7 years old)
and won
2 Show Tickets worth more than RM 200

In addition, Palace of the Golden Horses also extended delectable refreshments and special goodies to all participants for their sporting spirit and at the same time supporting this exciting event organised by the hotel.
The prize giving ceremony was graced by Mr Stuart Pack – Chief Executive Officer of Golden Horse Palace Berhad together with Adrian Chong of Disney On Ice.
