A "Gift of Hope" for children from SHELTER
January 2010: LiteFM invited listeners to fulfill the wishes of under privilege kids with LiteFM's Gift of Hope. In the spirit of Christmas and giving, a garden tea party in the SHELTER home children's honour was organized at Grand Salon of, Palace of the Golden Horses, at 4.30 pm.
Since early December last year, LiteFM had been urging their listeners to pick a gift from a list of things that the kids from SHELTER – Home for Children need, available on the LiteFM website. About 40 children, ages from as young as 5 to 18 years old, provided their wish list, that ranged from the simplest necessities like toiletries, clothes, and sport shoes to cameras and 4 GB thumb drives. Many kind and loyal listeners of LiteFM have responded to their call, pledging for the gifts through the LiteFM website, and the day arrived for the kids to receive their gifts from their sponsors!
There were fun games and entertainment with the LiteFM announcers, freebies and clowns that made the party a mini carnival that left a memorable spot in everyone’s mind. To top it of, there was also be a special performance by the children of SHELTER.
